June 10, 2013 iGT Achieves NIST Validation for FIPS 140-2 Government Standard

iDirect Government Technologies (iGT), a wholly owned subsidiary of VT iDirect (iDirect), today announced that its iDX 2.3.1, Evolution series line cards and remotes achieved a Level 1 validation against Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) 140-2: Security Requirements for Cryptographic Modules. FIPS 140-2 validation is a requirement for any cryptographic product that is used in a U.S. government agency network such as hardware and software that encrypts and decrypts data and conducts other cryptographic functions.
