If you’re in the military satellite communications (MILSATCOM) world, three things are of the utmost importance to you:
Reduced size, weight and power (SWaP)
Versatile comms-on-the-move (COTM) solutions
Secure tactical equipment that can withstand the elements
So this year at the Special Operations Forces Industry Conference (SOFIC), iDirect Government (iDirectGov) has answered the call for all three.
One of the most exciting events in MILSATCOM, SOFIC plays a vital role in getting new technologies and information to organizations tasked to equip our nation’s special operations forces.
Here are the three things you can expect to see from iDirectGov at SOFIC 2019 in booth #1336.
Reduced SWaP for Tactical Hub
We softly introduced it at Satellite 2019 in Washington, D.C., but now we’re really RAVE-ing about the SWaP reductions we’ve made to our Series 11000 Tactical Hub. Now bringing virtualization into the mix with the Ruggedized and Virtualized Environment (RAVE), the complete hub solution it’s lighter and smaller, making it truly ideal for deployed environments.
We have virtualized our network management system (NMS) and protocol processor (PP) onto one server, reducing this hub solution size from 5RU to 4RU, enabling our defense customers to cut the initial 2RU for dedicated servers in half.
Want to find out how it’s done? Swing by booth #1336 for the details.
Roll-on, roll-off airborne SATCOM solution
We’re bringing back the product we teamed up with UlitiSat, R4 and SelectTech Geospatial to create that brings a commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) solution for C-130 military transport aircraft to the table.
The Tactical Removable Airborne Satellite Communications (TRASC) system is truly a turnkey solution. It comes equipped with a UltiSat SkyTech 18-inch parabolic antenna featuring ideal SWaP for military use; SelectTech’s roll-on roll-off transit case integrated with our 9800 AR Satellite Router, power supply and gateway router; and new this year, R4’s C-130 shoulder panel mount.
The entire TRASC system ships together as a bundle and works with various Ka-, Ku- and X-bands or a combination of these to support voice and data for C-130 airborne applications. It’s 100 percent FAA-compliant, works on all C-130 variants and is compatible with existing SATCOM networks that are equipped with iDirectGov hubs.
If you missed it last year at SOFIC 2018, we highly recommend coming by our booth this year to see it for yourself.
9050 OM with NEW Outdoor Power Supply
Last year we introduced our 9050 OM – the first ruggedized enclosure to keep our 950mp safe, secure, clean and dry in dire conditions. This year, we’re introducing the power supply to match. Coming in at just over two pounds, this little guy can really pack a punch.
Like the hardware it powers, it also has a few tricks up its sleeve. Come by our booth to find out just exactly what.
See you at SOFIC 2019 at booth #1336!
