What's all the RAVE at Satellite 2019?

Satellite 2019 kicks off at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C. next week, giving everyone in the SATCOM industry a chance to take in the latest innovations on the marketplace or soon to be released.

The entire venue will be packed with new technology and equipment ripe for the taking, which is very exciting for innovators dying to get their hands on products and meet the brains behind them.

That’s the good news – the bad news is you only have three days to take it all in. So much to see and in such little time! Where to start? What to do? Where to go?

If you’re in the military satellite communications (MILSATCOM) world, we highly recommend swinging by our booth #901 first. Here’s what you can expect to see from us this year at Satellite 2019.

9050 OM + Power Supply

Last year we introduced our 9050 OM – the first ruggedized enclosure to keep our 950mp safe, secure, clean and dry in dire conditions. This year, we’re introducing the power supply to match. Coming in at just over two pounds, this little guy can really pack a punch.

Like the hardware it powers, it also has a few tricks up its sleeve. Come by our booth to find out just exactly what.

Our Improved Tactical Hub will be all the RAVE

Our Series 11000 Tactical Hub is embracing SWaP enhancement.. Bringing virtualization into the mix with the Ruggedized and Virtualized Environment (RAVE), the complete hub solution it’s now lighter and smaller, making it truly ideal for deployed environments.

We have virtualized our network management system (NMS) and protocol processor (PP) onto one server, reducing this hub solution size from 5RU to 4RU, enabling our defense customers to cut the initial 2RU for dedicated servers in half.

Want to find out how it’s done? Swing by booth #901 for the details.

Reduced SWaP

As is the case with electronics, things are always getting smaller and more powerful with each passing year. Our products are no different.

For example, the 950mp is ideal for integration into satellite terminals and is half the size of its predecessor. You already know that our Tactical Hub is being reduced in size, weight and power (SWaP) thanks to RAVE, and our 9050 OM is astonishingly small for what it is.

Plus, our very own Director of Product Management Karen Emery will be the moderator for the “Ka- Ku- Backhaul Solutions for a New Wireless Age” panel on Tuesday, May 7 from 2:45 to 3:45 in room 150! Haven’t met her yet? Read all about her experience before coming to iDirect Government in October. Be sure to swing by booth #901, too, for a chance to meet her in person!

See you at Satellite 2019 in booth #901!
